The problem of the availability of suitable venues in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for major jazz and improvised music ensembles is evident at every stage of the creation of their artistic projects. The region is also rich in proposals of recognized artistic quality, and has a definite creative potential, so the entire local cultural fabric needs to adopt a proactive approach to encourage it.
At the initiative of the Grands Formats and JAZZ(s)RA networks, a number of cultural players from the AURA region – artistic teams, promoters and elected representatives – are getting together to discuss the problem of the lack of residency facilities for large ensembles. The aim is to find possible solutions, such as a draft charter with the following objective: a home for every large ensemble!
