If European jazz seems to be livelier than ever, with many young artists emerging from training to enter professional life as songwriters, composers, arrangers, instrumentalists, entrepreneurs, bookers, producers, community managers, press attachés and communicators, what’s happening in the production sector? Should the handful of artists’ agencies that dominate the French market get to grips with the subject, or are artists condemned to organize themselves as co or mono-llectives to produce their music? Artist vs. entrepreneur?
