Victoria Alexanyan, a singer who has spent her life between Armenia and France, offers us a singular jazz between East and West. The melodies, based on compositions and arrangements of folklore, are carried by Victoria’s captivating voice, and intersect with instruments of distant sonorities: the traditional Armenian duduk, the Turkish clarinet, the Arabic nay and the oud, to which are added the virtuosity of the rhythm section. An invitation to travel in an authentic, deeply-rooted universe that emancipates itself from its roots.
