27 & 28 Nov : Tremplin RéZZo Jazz à Vienne

Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November

Born from the desire to bring new jazz talents to the forefront, the national springboard RéZZo Jazz à Vienne is a real opportunity for young jazz bands to be supported in their artistic and professional career development thanks to a complete accompaniment for one year (distribution, management, album recording, signature on the Kyodo records label…). This springboard relies on partners (clubs, festivals…) who find the new jazz scene of tomorrow in each region of France and its overseas territories. After the cancellation of the 2020 edition of Jazz à Vienne and the festival’s inability to programme the Rezzo finalists for its 2021 edition, JAZZ(s)RA has offered to host this springboard for 2 days at the forum in partnership with the Cournon d’Auvergne venue, the Baie des singes. The springboard was organised with the support of the BNP Paribas foundation, Focal, SACEM, Kyodo records, FIP and Jazzmagazine.

Programme of the 2 days :

Saturday 27 November

12.30 pm: introductory remarks / presentation of the springboard and its new website

1:00-1:45 pm: Acquaviva Trio
Acquaviva Trio offers a jazz that is both melodic and percussive, with a pop flavour, combining freshness and depth, both in composition and execution. Jean-Charles Acquaviva finds his inspiration in his Corsican origins and in his nature, which evokes images and emotions.

2.30-3.15 pm: HØST
This is more or less what HØST gives us to feel: warmth beyond the cold, light beyond the wind, or strength beyond the softness. (Antoine Bergot – Le GriGri)
This new creation of the quartet proposes a stroll between the Pyrenees and the Fjords through strong compositions with powerful lyricism.

16:00-16:45: Gaspard Baradel Quartet
The Gaspard Baradel Quartet offers an original repertoire, based on the compositions of the saxophonist and in the vein of current jazz, inspired by the great American artists of today and yesterday. The four protagonists will take you on a journey with a rich, nuanced and energetic music, where interaction is the key word.

5.30-6.15 pm: NCY Milky Band
NCY Milky Band is an experimental jazz quartet from Nancy. These four musicians offer unique jazz hybrids halfway between 70’s French groove and modern electronica.

Sunday 28 November

13:00-13:45: Noé Sécula Trio
The style of the trio is in line with the current jazz trend. The individual playing of each musician is nourished by common and other influences, which enrich the trio’s playing, which approaches the “Art of the Trio” of pianist Brad Mehldau. Numerous classical influences such as Jean Sebastien Bach and Maurice Ravel are present in the compositions. The will of the members of the group is to compose by mixing classical and jazz colours, thus trying to break the “traditional” codes.

14:30-15:15: Kaplaa
From a music inspired by Bill Frisell, Carla Bley, Jakob Bro, Human Feel, or Kenny Wheeler, a dark and delicate poetry emerges, while rocky rhythms tie us to the earth. Broad jazz, woody rock, heady riffs and Scandinavian accents.

4pm-4.45pm: Rouge
Their first album Derrière les paupières evokes a stormy crossing, an aerial and sensitive path towards an inner clearing. With simplicity, the musicians create the conditions for a contemplative and hypnotic immersion, the better to draw us into the heart of the gentle storm RED.

5.30-6.15 pm: Ishkero
Fusion, Prog, Jazz-Funk, Gnawa music… There’s no shortage of influences to try and pinpoint the protean creations of this talented Parisian quintet. Regulars of the Parisian stages and in particular of La Gare Jazz, they will come to present their new release in company of talented guests. A concert not to be missed by all fans of the new jazz scene!

7pm: announcement of the winner
